What You Need to Know About KJ Jefferson's Heisman Run

After beginning the year with +6000 odds to win the Heisman, Jefferson now sits at +7000. Quietly one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in America, more eyes are likely to be on Jefferson when the Razorbacks face bigger-name opponents, including Texas A&M and Alabama over the next two weeks.

Although performances against Missouri State arenā€™t likely to catch the eye on many Heisman voters, Jefferson did put up 425 total yards his last time out. For the season, Jefferson has already accounted for nine total touchdowns and just one interception.

Known for his athleticism, Jefferson surprised many with his passing ability last season and is doing so again in 2022. Through three weeks of action, the Arkansas signal caller ranks second in the SEC in yards per attempt and third in the conference in completion percentage, touchdown passes and passer rating. He also ranks in the top 15 in the SEC in rushing yards and fifth in rushing touchdowns.

For Jefferson to make a serious run at the Heisman Trophy, heā€™ll need to shine against the likes of Texas A&M, Alabama, BYU, and Ole Miss. If he does that and Arkansas can make an SEC title run, nothing is out of the realm of possibility.
